Revival Festival☆Easter Night - Chapter 10

『いらっしゃ~い。 つむぎちゃん、 そこに座って。 今、お茶をいれたげる。 とっておきお茶子もあるのよ、召し上がれ～♪』

Shu: Welcome~ Tsumugi-chan, have a seat right over there. I`ll prepare the tea right now. I`ve saved some special tea cakes for this occasion, so eat up~ 

 

これはどうもご丁寧に……? えっと、 宗くん。 俺をび出したのって 『イ一ス夕一ナイ ト』 の衣装についてですよね 

Tsumugi: Thank you for being so kind…? Umm, Shu-kun. You called on me in regards to the outfits for “Easter Night” right?

 

とりあえす日数もないので、 徹夜してでも仕上げたいんですよ

Tsumugi: In any case, there isn`t much time left, so I`ll work all night to finish if I have to.

 

意欲だけは一丁前だね。 無から有を生み出す苦労を知らないわけでもないだろうに

Shu: The only thing you`ve established is your resolve. You know nothing of the hardships required to produce something from nothing.

 

僕より君のほうが 『Switch』 の衣装に詳しいだろうと余計な口出しは控えていたが、 あまりにも悠長すぎる

Shu: You are more knowledgeable of Switch`s outfits than I, so I refrained from meddling unnecessarily, but you were far too slow. 

 

『イース夕一ナイ ト』 に参加しない僕のほうがやきもきしているくらいだ。 まぁ影片は乗り気なようだし

Shu: Even I am concerned, and I`m not even participating in “Easter Night.” Well, Kagehira seems to be quite passionate about it.

 

外部の仕事でもあるしね、 『Valkyrie』 の戦歴に傷がつく恐れもない。 影片だけなら参加しても構わないよ

Shu: It`s an external job anyhow, so there is no danger of it harming Valkyrie`s win-lose ratio. It`s not a problem if Kagehira wants to participate on his own.

 

ほんまに? なっくんにも 『Switch』 に混ざったらどうやって言われたし、 ひとりでステージに立つわけやない 

Mika: Really? Nakkun said that I can join in with Switch too. That way I don`t have to stand on stage by myself.

 

それでも、 おれはお師さんとー緒にライブがしたいねん。 お師さんは完璧を良しとするから、 日数が足りひんって断られてしもたけど

Mika: Still, I wanna do a live together with Oshi-san. You said no before `cause there ain`t enough time to make everythin` all perfect the way you like it, but... 

 

なぁ、 お師さん。 どうしても駄目やろか…?

Mika: Nnah, Oshi-san. Can`t you make an exception this once…?

 

【フラワーフエス】 に感化されてライブがしとぉなったのはほんまやけど、 いちばんはお師さんと一緒にステージに立つことや 

Mika: I wasn`t lyin` about wantin` to do a live `cause of Flower Fes, but… The biggest reason is because I wanna stand on the same stage as you, Oshi-san.

その願いが叶うなら這い蹲っても構へん. 泥水だけ啜って生きていく人生でも平気やで

Mika: I`d do anything if it meant I could make that dream come true. I wouldn`t mind spendin` my whole life grovelin` in the dirt if I had to.

 

何度も言わせるな。 空っぽの脳みそに叩きこみたまえ、僕は 『イ一ス夕一ナイ ト』 に参加しない

Shu: I won`t repeat myself. Beat it into that empty brain of yours, I will not be participating in “Easter Night.”

 

いくら戦歴に傷がつかないとはいえ、 『Valkyrie』 のライブだ。 妥協は許さない

Shu: Although it will not affect our win-lose ratio, it is still a Valkyrie live. I will not allow any compromise.

 

だが安心したまえ。 影片の衣装は完璧に仕上げる。 そのためのデザイン画も起こしてみた

Shu: However, you need not worry. Kagehira`s outfit shall be completed perfectly. I`ve revitalized the design for this reason.

 

ははぁ、 イース夕ーバニーをイメージしてデザインしたんですね~

Tsumugi: Ahaha, the design was made in the image of an Easter bunny~

 

さすが宗くんです。 デザイン画だけでも細部まで作りこんでいて惚れ惚れしちゃいますね

Tsumugi: Just as you`d expect from Shu-kun. Even though it`s just a design, it`s so heartwarming how even the tiniest of details have been added one after the other.

 

手芸の才能もですけど、 天才だからこそ異常なまでのこだわりが必要なんでしょうね

Tsumugi: Not just talent for handicrafts, but, because you`re a prodigy, I suppose such extraordinary levels of obsession is necessary, isn`t it.

 

ふん、 知ったような口を利くねッ ?

Shu: Hmph, quite the know-it-all, now, aren`t we?

 

影片はデザイン画どおりに仕上げるのは苦手なようだが、 手芸部の部員でありながら縫製ひとつできないようでは木偶の坊以下だよ

Shu: Kagehira has trouble getting things to look like the design, but a handicrafts club member who can`t so much as sew is beyond useless.

 

僕は影片の衣装に注力するから、 君は青葉の作業を手伝うといい

Shu: Kagehira, I will focus on your outfit, and you will assist Aoba with Switch`s outfits. 

 

了解やでお師さん~♪ つむちゃん先輩、 帰りが遅ぉなってまうけどおうちのひとに連絡せんで大丈夫?

Mika: Roger that, Oshi-san~ Tsumu-chan-senpai, it`ll be a while till ya return back home. Aren`t you gonna call home and let `em know?

 

もう高校生ですしね。 それに最上級生なんですから、 俺がみかくんにかける言葉です

Tsumugi: I`m already a high school student, aren`t I? Moreover, I`m a senior at that, so shouldn`t I be saying that to you, Mika-kun?

 

んあっ、 おれはお師さんのおうちに居候させてもらっとるから……。 お師さんが帰るまでここにおるよ

Mika: Nnah, I`m the one who gets a free place to stay from Oshi-san`s family. I`ll stay here until Oshi-san goes home.

 

そうですか……。 俺も徹夜してでも仕上げたいって言いましたからね

Tsumugi: Is that so… Well, I did say that I would stay overnight to finish up if I have to, didn`t I?

 

宗くんのデザイン画は小物にいたるまで詳細なので、 デザイン画どおりに仕上げていたらどれだけ時間がかかることやら 

Tsumugi: Since Shu-kun`s design is detailed right down to the acessories, who knows how long it would take to finish all of this. 

 

宗くんの駄目出しもあるでしょうし、 徹夜で完成すれば万々歳です

Tsumugi: There`s also Shu-kun`s harsh judgement of the work; if we finish this up in one night, it would be a complete miracle.

 

さてと。 みかくんには何をつくってもらいましょうかね

Tsumugi: Well then. What should I have you help with, Mika-kun? 

 

あんまり難しいのは勘弁してや~…… ?

Mika: Don`t give me anythin` too hard, okay~......?

 

おれは床に散らばった糸くずを掃除したり、 お茶をいれたり、 肩を揉んだりするくらいかちょうどえぇで♪

Mika: Doin` things like sweeping up the extra threads off the floor, making tea, or rubbing your shoulders is fine by me ♪

 

いやいや、 手芸部員の仕事じゃないでしょう

Tsumugi: Oh no, those aren`t tasks for a member of the Handicrafts club.

 

俺は手芸部のほうにあまり顔をださないので、 手芸部の方針について口を出したくありませんけど

Tsumugi: To be fair, I haven`t shown my face in the Handicrafts club very much, so I can`t really speak for the club`s policies, but...

 

宗くんにお願いされて、 手芸部の仕事を手伝うことがありますしね。 雑用係じゃないんですから、 みかくんもお裁縫しましょう 

Tsumugi: When Shu-kun asks, I come to aid the handicrafts club with whatever is needed. You`re not just an errand boy, so you should sew something too, okay?

 

んん~……せやけど、 お裁縫は未熟やし。 お師さんに作品を見せるたびに渋い顔をされるねん

Mika: Nn~...but still, I`m no good at sewing. Whenever I show my work to Oshi-san, he makes a real sour face.

 

その点、 つむちゃん先輩はお師さんに実力を認められとるしなぁ

Mika: On the other hand, Oshi-san`s already acknowledged your skills, Tsumu-chan-senpai.

 

おれはつむちゃん先輩が作業に集中できるよう、サポ一トするのがいちばんえぇと思うんよ

Mika: I think I`d do best supporting you so you can concentrate on your work, Tsumu-chan-senpai. 

 

お師さんにもつむちゃん先輩の作業を手伝えって言われたもん

Mika: Oshi-san told me to help you work, after all.

 

集中モードに入ったお師さんのそばでウロチョロしてたら邪魔にしかならヘんし

Mika: I`d just be in the way if I loitered around near Oshi-san while he`s tryin` to focus.

 

せやから、 つむちゃん先輩を手伝わせたってな。 おれ、何でもする。 つむちゃん先輩が快適に作業できるよう全力でサポートするでっ 

Mika: That`s why he`s got me helping you out instead. I`ll do anything ya need. I`ll give ya all the support I can so you can work comfortably!

 

みかくん……。 負い目がないのに、 自己犠牲をしたがるのはどういう心理状態なんでしょうね

Tsumugi: Mika-kun… What is your mental state like, to sacrifice yourself without any obligation to?

 

青い鳥の存在に気づいても、 籠のなかに閉じこめれば黒く染まってしまいます

Tsumugi: If you realize you`ve found a blue bird, it`ll lose its color and turn black if you keep it locked away in a cage.

 

夜の世界でしか生きられない存在を無理矢理に日の光にさらせば、 死んでしまいます

Tsumugi: If you try to force a creature of the night  into light of day, it will surely die.

 

そうなってからでは遅いんですけどね

Tsumugi: And after that, it`ll be too late…

 

幸せを求めようと足掻けば足掻くほど遠のき、 ふとした瞬間に気づいたものこそ掛け替えのない存在である

Tsumugi: The harder you struggle to catch happiness, the further away from you it seems to get. Real happiness is in those little moments you don`t expect. 

 

……なんて、 教訓めいたお話だったのかもしれませんし。 それはそれ、 感じるひとによって解釈もちがいます

Tsumugi: ...Somehow, the story became more like a lesson.  That being said, depending on the person, the interpretation will change.

 

絶対の正解なんて、 この世のどこにもありませんよ

Tsumugi: There isn`t a single place in this world where an unmistakably correct answer exists.

 

んん~、 よぉわからヘんよ? つむちゃん先輩もお師さんと同じくサポ一トはいらんってことやろか?

Mika: Nn...I don`t really get it? Are you trying to say you don`t need me helpin` you either?

 

いやいや、 みかくんが手伝ってくれたら大助かりですよ。 もちろん、 雑用係としてではなく手芸部員としてお手伝いしてくださいね 

Tsumugi: Not at all, you`re a great help, Mika-kun. Naturally, I want your help as a member of the handicrafts club, not on odd job duty.

 

構へんけど、 そっち方面ではお役に立てへんで? むしろつむちゃん先輩の仕事を増やしてしまうかもしれヘん

Mika: It doesn`t really matter but, wouldn`t I be less helpful that way? Tsumu-chan-senpai`s workload might just get worse instead...

 

みかくんはもっと目分に自信を持つべきですね

Tsumugi: Mika-kun, you must have more confidence in yourself.

 

大丈夫ですよ、 みかくん。 わからないことがあったら聞いてください。 君には成長の余地があるんですから

Tsumugi: It`s alright, Mika-kun. When there`s something you don`t understand, please ask me. Because there`s a lot of room for your growth.
 

自分自身で才能の芽を潰してしまうのは、 もったいないですよ?

Tsumugi: To step on the sprout that is one`s own talent, well, that`s a terrible waste, isn`t it?

Translation notes!
The lovely X10 has summarized the parts of the story that Tsumugi is referencing with his bluebird of happiness speeches.
"In the story, the characters first go to the land of memories to find a blue bird to heal a sick child. they find that the old blackbird now looks blue, but when they put it in a cage and try to bring it home to the land of the living, it's black again.

Next, they visit the Palace of Night to continue their search. The find thousands, millions of blue birds in the moonlit garden, and try to bring them back to the land of the living. However, the birds aren't the real blue bird they were looking for, and die when exposed to the light.

The real blue bird in the story turned out to be the plain old bird they had at home the whole time. They bring it to give the sick child, but warn that blue birds (happiness) can change their color in an instant. The moral could be interpreted as to enjoy the happiness you have now while it's there, rather than looking all over the past and future for eternal (forever blue) happiness."
